STEEL & TUBE APPOINTS A NEW DIRECTOR

Steel & Tube Holdings Limited today announced that Chris Ellis will join the company’s Board of Directors. Chris is an experienced director with a background spanning the building supply, manufacturing, heavy construction and engineering sectors.

His appointment is effective from 1 October 2017.

This is a further move in the Board refresh signalled to shareholders by the company last year and follows the announcement of the appointment of Steve Reindler to the Board, also effective October 1.

Chris is the former Chief Executive of Brightwater Group and senior executive in the Building Products Division of Fletcher Building Ltd, as well as earlier general management roles in Winstone Aggregates and Fletcher Construction.

Chris’s current governance roles include: Chair of Hiway Group Limited and director of WorkSafe New Zealand, the New Zealand Transport Agency and Horizon Energy Ltd. He was previously Chair of EnergyWorks.

Chris has a bachelor of engineering degree from the University of Canterbury and a master’s degree in engineering science and management from Stanford University in California. He was inaugural Chairman of the NZ Business Leaders’ Health and Safety Forum.

Chair Susan Paterson said she was delighted a director with Chris’s breadth of management and governance experience in our sector was joining the Board.
